Another day. For Rebecca Telenand, it was more than that - she was supposed to be a representative for the school. She placed into Obelisk Blue right out of the gate, even though she hadn't had the years of dueling pedigree that most of her peers had. Sure, that made her target, but someone still thought that she deserved to be here, in a blue outfit that brought out her rosy hair and sparkling eyes.
So why was she so afraid?
It was like she wasn't going anywhere, but it felt too much like a dream - one that she'd wake up from at any minute. Maybe she didn't get in. Maybe she's only here as a janitor because her test scores were that bad. Maybe her entire life was a lie and she was doomed to walk the streets a homeless wretch for what little time she had left.
"..." it was all she could say or do, despite her position. Becca was on the verge of tears, looking for nothing, save maybe a shoulder to cry on...

Tori was in a hurry. She had forgot her homework in the dorm. She had been up so late working on it and fallen asleep. When her and her roommate Set had left for class, she had forgotten all about it. A hurried promise to the teacher to bring it right after class seemed to satisfy her enough to not ask too many questions. So now she ran along the path, in her Osiris red uniform towards the school building. Her silver hair whipped behind her as she ran, kept only from her face by the gold colored bandanna she wore atop of her head. Another noticeable feature of the young girl was that she didn't wear the skirt, but the pants instead. Her shoulder bag was in her hand instead of it's normal location. Her eyes were drawn to a figure in blue and red. She slowed, her breath trying to catch up during this short break. Was she alright? She started over to the girl, recognizing the body language she had. Tori, being the friendly and sweet girl that she was, put on a smile and help up a hand. "Hello!"She called out in a cheerful voice. The teacher would have to wait for the homework. In Tori's book, making friends was more important--she could always learn, but a chance for a friend could be over looked, passed by, and lost forever. "Are you alright?"Her breathing was returning to normal now, but her cheeks were still flushed from the run. Why did the dorms have to be so far awaaaaaaay.

"Huh? Wha?" Rebecca was shocked out of her little nightmare (daymare? Rebecca wasn't sure.) by the Osiris girl getting her attention.
"Oh...No, d-don't worry about me. I'll be fine. You, though..." Rebecca looked up and down at the other girl. Out of uniform, running late...she probably didn't have time to spare. "Are you sure you're alright? I mean..." She paused, trying to think of how to phrase it. "I...I just didn't want to bother you."

Tori nodded and held up her bag. "My class is already over, I was just running back for something minor; it's no biggie."She put her bag on correctly now and held out her hand to shake with her. "I don't think I've seen you around. My name is Tori Kyoakuhan. Are you new? Lost? Hurt?"She spouted questions that she thought would make a person stand alone in an area like this. Then another hit her; one that had been the reason for her to stand aside from others. "Are you waiting on someone?"Her head tilted at this point in curiosity.

Rebecca blinked as she listened to the other girl. Waiting on someone? Maybe...she really wasn't sure.
"Oh...no, sorry. My name is Rebecca...I don't think I'm lost, though...is there a problem?" She just stood there, still unsure what to make of the situation. "A-are you sure you're okay? Your face is all read and stuff..."

Tori nodded with a small laugh. "Yes yes, I'm fine. I was running for a while so that is why my face is red. Don't worry, give it a bit, and I'll be back to my pale skinned self in no time."She rubbed the back of her head, causing her bandanna to wiggle a bit as she laughed. After a moment she let her hand return to her side, the smile still on her face. "Man, you're so lucky to have made it into blue..."She looked down at her own red jacket. "You must be amazing at dueling... the know how required in it..."She looked up. "I stink at it; making me right where I belong."She was trying to make conversation. On the inside, she was freaking out. Was she bothering her? Was she being annoying? What if she was doing something important and she was distracting her? Like, tailing someone... or waiting for a teacher or something. Tori's cheeks paled a fraction when she thought about... what if she was waiting for someone to duel? She quickly reminded herself that she did not have her deck or duel disk with her, so for the moment she was safe.

"m-me?" It was now a race to see whose face was redder as Rebecca blushed. "I...I just got lucky on the test, I think. My dueling really isnt' anything special..." It's not like she had a duel disk with her either - it was still packed away in her bag.
"But...y-you can't just give up like t-that! I mean, you at least got here, right? That's better than most people who even sign up, right?" It was obvious that Rebecca was trying to cheer Tori up, and doing a poor job of it, too. But the effort was what mattered - she hoped, anyways.

Tori smiled at her and flexed one arm. She winked as she spoke. "Don't worry! I'm going to give it my all. I'll be in blue before I leave here, I'm sure of it."After she learned all the rules, figured out how to actually duel, knew how to make a deck and passed all the tests... yeah, she'd get there. Her inner voice wasn't as confident as her spoke voice. She had a lot she had to do but she was determined to give it her all. "No doubt it will be tough though... and might take me a while, but that's what growth and success is about: time. I read it somewhere. I think it was in a news paper in Miami... anyway."She waved her hands, her cheeks reddening from the possible ramble. Once she felt that thought pattern was safely derailed, she tiled her head in question. "Where are you from and how long have you been here?"Maybe she could help her out if she was new! Like, directions or be her friend and help her catch up in the classes she missed. Oh the possibilities.

"Me?" Rebecca was almost surprised to be asked that question. "Umm...well, I'm from England, in a tiny little town near the river. But I've only been here a few days...why?"
She wasn't sure where this conversation was going - but for the time being, she was happy to follow it.
"You said you were from Miami? That's in the USA, right? what's it like over there?"

"Really? Wow! I've never been to England... And I'm asking out of curiosity."She also was trying to make friends--something she STILL wasn't use to doing. She had made a handful of them while here--or at least, she thought she did. Setsuna, Nana (though it was from class), Enzeru--her cheeks burned a bit at this--and of course Amy, her favorite teacher so far. She decided to be upfront about her question and had opened her mouth but was prompted with a question. What was Miami like? She closed her mouth to think about it. "Well, in Miami, it hot."She giggled at that, which slowly trickled away into nervousness. "Yeah, Miami is in the US--more directly, it's in Florida. As far as I can tell, it's crowded--more so when it's summer time because everyone comes down for a vacation. Um, the water is nice and pretty. Uh..."She didn't want to say anything bad about the place, so this had her mentally scrounging for details. "We have a lot of shops so there is a lot of places to go shopping there. What is it like in England?"Her hands sprang up, unable to hide her nervousness any further. Her cheeks went bright red and she spoke in a hurried tone. "If I start to bother you, you can tell me and I'll stop. I'm not very good at making friends so I can get flustered and I worry about a lot of things--I'm so sorry."She finished by putting her hands over her mouth to stop the rambling. Oh man...

"Umm...I don't think you're bothering me...that's a good thing, though, right?" It would be a dark dark day where Rebecca Telenand was beaten out in timidity - though Tori might give her a run for her money.
"In England? Well...people say it always rains there...but it's not that bad! only like once or twice a week, or so...we don't have a lot of stores though. just the butcher and a tailor. It's so weird wearing a uniform like this...it's so soft!" spinning around, Rebecca closed her eyes and dreamed for a moment. It was like she was in a different world - one where she'd never have to worry about being picked on or pushed into the mud again.
"I just don't wanna go back..." she muttered to herself, a bit loudly.

Tori watched her and couldn't help but smile. The uniforms were soft, but it didn't change the fact that she hated skirts. Didn't she look the picture though! Spinning in a skirt, Rebecca reminded Tori of her younger sister. Of course, her sister was younger and didn't have pink hair. Her thoughts had started to wander, following the road to memories when Rebecca's soft voice made her snap back. After a few blinks, the words set in on Tori. "You don't want to go back? You mean back to England? Why?"Though Tori could understand. She would only go back to Miami if she really had to. For her only friend and her adopted family. Nothing else there to return to, really. All she had was the future. She would pause of course to wait for an answer. If one was given, she'd wait to speak. If Rebecca did not feel like disclosing the information, Tori would continue. "I can kind of relate to the feeling of not wanting to go back. That's why I have to do my best and keep on pushing through the hardships to maintain a course that will get me where I want to go!"She paused. Where was it she wanted to go...? She physically shook her head to disburse the thought. She'll figure that out when it was time. "How many years are you going to be here?"

"Umm...I'd r-rather not talk about it...sorry." Rebecca really didn't mean for Tori to hear that, and was blushing in embarrassment as she did her best to change the subject.
"How long will I be here? I...I don't know. As long as they'll take me, I guess? why do you ask that?"

"Well, the longer you stay here, the longer you don't have to go back. And, I'm going to be here for at LEAST three years, so if you want, we can hang out together."She smiled at her brightly before she recalled their difference in dorms. "Even though we are in different dorms, I'm sure we can still be friends... right?"The statement sounded more of a question as her cheeks colored but she pushed through, determined to make a friend. "We could do a lot of things together, or even get a group of people. We could go to Domino, sit together in class, and maybe--when I know how to duel--we can duel."She gave her hopeful eyes. Oh she wanted friends badly...

"Fr-friends?" Rebecca wasn't sure. She hadn't read the entire rulebook yet, so she wasn't too sure if something like that was going to get her in trouble. On the other hand, it wouldn't make sense to say your friends could only be from your dorm, right? On the other hand, The Osirus students were looked down on, and if she were to be hanging out with one she might be treated badly. On the other hand that's THREE HANDS and that just doesn't work.
"Umm...I guess that would be nice...I-I mean, maybe I could help you get better at dueling and all that?"
