Today was oddly warm, so Tori decided to do an odd thing for her: she went exploring--exercising really. Today she had on black sweat pants, a lilac purple tank top and a light blue hoodie, and to complete it all off, lilac running shoes. Her white hair was free from her bandanna today, risking sunburn on her scalp. She had put sunblock where she could and had a black shoulder bag with two water bottles, a small towel, her phone and a trail mix snack. She adjusted the most important part of her attire--the shades. Without the shades, she would not be able to do this long for her sensitive eyes would not be able to handle the sun light. She jogged through the sand, enjoying the work out and hating it all at once. If she didn't exercise in a regular routine, she'd get stir crazy and not focus in class. Thus, she ran--as she had since the Kyoakuhans adopted her. She kept just out of reach of the waves, listening to the sounds of the water and the birds that flew around (she didn't know seagulls didn't migrate!). Now and again, she'd slow to a walk to look at shells to send home to her little siblings. They had a collection going and it was actually really impressive. Her breathing was calm and rhythmic, following an In-2-3 Out-2-3 pattern. She felt and urge to make noise in the silence and peace around her--just to remind herself that she was alive. This feeling happens when she's alone--and often leads to her talking or singing to herself. This time, she chose to sing. "The wind is a'whipping through the open doors, speaking of the sea and the rolling' waves. Maybe there's a ship at the bottom now or struggling on the surface with a cry for help. Wish I could forget and let the years go by. Wish I could escape from my dreams of you.
Twenty years ago it was a howling storm, as the voice of a god from a great beyond, I was standing on the shore as the sky grew dark with a hand on a bible and a hand on my heart. Wish I could forget and let the years go by. Wish I could escape from my dreams of you!"As she continued to sing, her running seemed to increase, her focus slipped on her breathing, and she was moving at the pace of the song.

Her pace eventually ended up passing someone by entirely, and they didn't make a move to stop her. They did, however, join in with a song.
"It's when my world comes down, you wanna change your little ways. Tomorrow's another start, but it looks like everyday. You cant imagine how I wished that you could be the one. Inside you were not the same, but you look like everyone.
It's like a tidal wave that rose to take the stars, a hurricane that wrapped around my heart. If I could find a way, I'd make a brand new start! I can't believe it was the calm that killed the storm......"
The voice belonged to a young man, just entering adulthood. His hair was silver and slicked back into spikes that flowed, leaving his bright blue eyes fully visible. He wore a red jacket, symbolizing his rank, but did not look like he belonged. He seemed just a tad too......mature?
He was smiling, though, from his spot on a rock cluster. He sat on the tallest one, looking like the prince of the beach, tapping his foot to the music that played in his head.

Tori heard the other singer and spun around, sand kicking up as she did that. The momentum made her stumble a few steps backwards but she listened to him finish his singing. She blinked behind her shades at the man. He was in Osiris too? She took deep breaths to try and relax her body from the run. She didn't recognize the song, but it sounded pretty. She started toward him. "That's a lovely sounding song..."She made her comment, focusing on the fact that it wasn't entirely a personal question, so no reason to be shy about it. She stopped, not too far to be rude, but not close enough to risk being smelled--if she smelled bad. She had deodorant and body spray on to avoid that... just better safe than sorry. "Who's it by?"She tilted her head to one side, questioning. Her shades kept her eyes hidden but her brows could barely be seen as the furrowed.

The young man tilted his head, mirroring her, but still smiling the same warm smile.
"It's by Cold. Anatomy of a Tidal Wave."
He shrugged, shifting his weight on the rock he sat on until he slid down to the ones below, leaning against it casually.
"Not exactly the same music style, but the lyrics basically say the same thing, don't you think?"
He leaned a little more into the rock, then stretched his legs out, giving them a couple shakes. He wasn't tense or solid, more like water than anything else, much like the surrounding beach. Warm and calming in stance and speech.

Tori took her shades off, wanting to see him without the super dark lenses changing the colors. Her red eyes blinked at him. Huh he looked familiar... She brushed it off. As he slid down the rock, she couldn't help but raise a brow. He seemed so relaxed while she was always nervous, tight and twitchy. "I would think so. I will have to find the song and listen to it when I return to the dorms. I'm Tori by the way."She held out her hand, hoping it wasn't too sweaty to shake. "We're in the same dorm but I'm surprised we haven't met before."

The young man stepped forward, taking her hand in a gentle but firm handshake, smiling the whole time.
"It's alright, my brother and I only just got here. My name is Enzeru Ranmyaku. Nice to meet you, Tori."
He chuckled lightly, then seemed to focus in on her eyes.
"Wow, your eyes are amazing....." Enzeru leaned a little closer, as if examining them, curious.

She had to respect him for his hand shake. A lot of people didn't really give a crap about the impression it gave--though being raised by a business man like Mr. Kyoakuhan, she had learned the importance--why was he leaning closer? Her cheeks suddenly flushed. She would have stepped back but he was holding her hand, paralyzed suddenly out of embarrassment and shyness all at once. She looked back and forth, from one of his eyes to the other, blinking a bit. She tried to distract herself with other thoughts. Like the advice Amy had given her at the docks. Make conversation about something you like. She couldn't think of anything. Why couldn't she think? Then his statement finally sank in her head and she muttered a response. "Thank you... so are yours."She shifted a bit and looked down, her cheeks burning. She wanted her hand back suddenly so she could fidget with her hoodie. "You have a brother? What is his name? Is he in Osiris too?"She kept her eyes on the sand. Think of something... THINK OF SOMETHING...

Enzeru chuckled, still holding her hand as if it was of no consequence.
"Thank you for the compliment."
He pulled his head back a bit as she asked her next question, grinning.
"No, he's the Infirmary Head, actually. I came when he came." He then released her hand, only to cup it to the side of his mouth. "Truth be told, he is a little disappointed with my rank." He smirked regardless, as if he didn't care what dorm he had been put in.

Tori looked at him when he made the Infirmary Head comment. That was surprising. Then her hand moved and she jumped a bit, almost feeling the hairs on her arm stand on end as the blush deepened. Every fiber of the shy being that Tori was wanted to run away and hide somewhere. She faced her shoes and put her shades back on. "Why would he be disappointed?"She tried idle conversation, focusing on anything accept what was going on. That... was hard... need a topic. Need a topic... "Did you know there were caves over here somewhere?"She blubbered this, looking around to see if she could see one but of COURSE her bad eye sight made this difficult... unless he was sitting on a cave rock opening... now she couldn't even make sense to herself! How was someone to sit ON and OPENING. That was just... silly sounding...

"Oh yeah, I was actually sitting near the entrance of one of them."
With that, he rounded to the side of the rock cluster he had been sitting on. Turns out that side is solid rock and there is, indeed, an opening there that looked like a cave.
Enzeru leaned into the mouth, looking around, but not entering.
"I'm pretty sure there are others connected, but I found this one during my walk. Not completely sure if it is stable."
He shrugged, though, and looked back at Tori again, his head tilted to one side.

FREEDOM! She took that moment to pull away from him and start into the cave. She used the shades to hold her bangs back by setting them on top of her head. What a waste of movement, putting them back on in the first place. Her eyes scanned the cave. It was... awesome. She started into it slowly, the urge to explore growing at something she's never done before. What was it called... "Spelunking."The word randomly came out of her mouth and she was proud of her memory. She took her time, watching her step, but not really paying attention to where her head might hit. Though, she's somewhat short... ish... so she should be fine... right? She looked back at him, as if asking 'you coming?' The blush finally started to leave her face.

Enzeru smirked at Tori when she looked back at him, then proceeded into the cave. The darkness of the cave caused him to hesitate many times at the start, his eyes adjusting to the amount of light available, and did end up bending over to prevent smacking into something headfirst.
"So what brings you to the island, Tori?"
His curiosity was getting the better of him, but that was typical of him. He cared enough about the information people were telling him to prevent it from escaping his lips, trustworthy with most anything. People you first meet, however, are not usually so willing to give out info.

"To be honest, I don't know. I heard about the academy, that it was here in Japan, and came here from Miami, not even knowing how to duel. I convinced my parents to let me come before I even knew it was about dueling. I think it was for the adventure."She rambled a bit, but she couldn't just answer a question without explaining. A thought came to mind that made her giggle. "Which could be why I failed the entrance exam so horribly... what about you? What made you want to come here?"She stumbled on a rock, causing her to gasp and catch herself on the wall. Eep! The walls were wet! Why were they wet? She wiped her hands on her pants, trying to get the gross feeling off.

Enzeru thought for a moment when she asked him that question, then proceeded forward towards her when he heard her gasp, reaching out blindly.
"Tori? Are you alright? Blast this darkness, I can't see....."

"Yeah, I just stumbled. Oh! I have an idea..."She took off her bag and dug around until she had her phone. She pushed a button for a dim light until she found the flash light app. She turned it on as she put her bag on her back again. She brought the light around to him, making sure not to let the light hit him in the face--that always hurt. She was smiling in the dim light, happy with herself for thinking about this, but ashamed that she didn't do it sooner. "Tada! This should make it a bit easier."She didn't know if she was adventurous or just stupid... walking around in the darkness of a cave. Who knows what could be in here. She brought the light around the walls. Was that... moss or mold? She stepped closer to look at what her hand had touch, reflexively wiping her hand on her pants again. She didn't come to any conclusion before she realized he didn't answer her question. She passed the light to him. "Did you come here to be with your brother?"She ventured to ask. She shuffled a bit further into the cave, using the toe of her shoe to feel around for any more loose rocks.
