His first day here on the island, having finally made it. Will sat with his legs dangling over the edge of the cliffs, leaning back on his hands as he enjoyed the movement of the clouds in the late afternoon sun. He was mostly silent since he got here, only really having time to unload his stuff before coming out here, out to where he felt the most comfortable.
He cursed himself for his performance. He was told that he was close to Ra, which was the dorm he wanted, however Will just barely missed the mark. Surprisingly, the practical duel went well for him, his Cloudians doing well despite nearly losing to the moderator. It was the written test, which went over a number of different cards he had not heard of before, that he was dropped to Osiris.
It was no matter, though, Will was determined that he would prove himself in class, and move up to Ra in absolutely no time at all. Even as he looked down at his red uniform, he pictured himself wearing the yellow of Ra, and moving into a... proper... dorm.
A sudden change in light snapped his thoughts back to the present, and he watched the rather inspiring clouds move across the sky.
"Watch out, Duel Academy, a storm approaches."

[atrb=valign, top] The girl walked down the edge of the cliffs, with her nose in a book no less. She, unlike Will, did wear the Ra Blazer, except that she didn't dote on the fact that she didn't make Obelisk. Everyone had room for improvement in themselves. So, even if she had obtained Osiris, she wouldn't have doted upon it.
She moved a strand of hair out of her face as she walked, keeping the book (on strategy, no less) in one hand. She didn't notice Will as she walked past him, and the only thing that drew her attention to Will was him speaking. Her curiously blue eyes darted to the side and she stopped behind him. Her face remained rather emotionless as she lowered her book.
Then, she looked to the sky at the clouds. "I would hardly call that a storm. A drizzle perhaps. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]

Will was a bit startled to hear a voice behind him, commenting on what he said. It was nearly enough to send the poor Osiris down the cliffs, but he kept his balance, and instead scrambled back up to turn to the Ra girl.
"Sorry, didn't think anyone else was here. I wasn't talking about the clouds... oh nevermind. My name is Will, Will Nimbus. Cloud Duelist extraordinaire." he said, obviously a little more sure of himself then he probably should be.
"And.. you are?"

[atrb=valign, top] Extrodinaire. She hugged her book to her chest and shifted her weight onto one leg. She examined him for only a moment. Red blazer, a cocky grin, and an infinite amount of cloud puns dripping off of him. A faint smile came to her face, along with one slightly arched eyebrow.
"Mizuki Haruka desu." She said. "Since you were so gracious to present your type, stall and burn are mine." She coughed a little to clear her throat and pushed her bangs behind her ear. "I find instead of heavy hitting that harassment of the opponent is the better strategy." She took the book and placed it behind her back, then grabbed her arm with the other hand. Then she took one step closer.
"You sound confident in yourself, Nimbus-san." She commented. "Cloudians are hardly the strong type in the current game, and yet you hold much faith in them. Why?" | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]

Will honestly didn't know how to answer her at first. Cloudians? Sure, they seem to lost their luster in the recent sets, but the truth of the matter was that the newer sets were more focused around new ways of summoning. Almost all of the older sets had long since been abandoned. Finally, he could think of why he stuck with the Cloudians.
"There are plenty of duelist who would abandon their own cards for the latest and greatest, but a true dueling master holds his own cards above all others, and works to exploit the weaknesses of these so called stronger decks. The Cloudians hold a special place in my heart, its almost like I have a connection. They've helped me where other decks have failed. Sure, it was close, but I won my practical entrance test with the Cloudians, Nimbusman to be exact. And because of that, he's my favorite." he said, pulling out the top card of his deck, and showing the Nimbusman. Funny is that Nimbusman isn't even suppose to be the ace card of the Cloudians. That would be Eye of the Typhoon, which is powerful, but Nimbusman has been able to, for lack of a better term, weather the direction of Duel Monsters far better. I do have another deck in the works, but the Cloudians will forever be with me. And I pride myself on sticking to the Cloudians."

[atrb=valign, top] She took out a card from her own deck and looked at it quietly. "But sometimes, a monster or a type is not your best weapon; it is a simple spell." She commented as she turned around the card that she had picked. One Day of Peace. A way for her deck to sit back and defend against almost all onslaught. Only decks that hit directly home would be able to stop her; but her cards made her deck sort of like a castle, with a ticking time bomb being sent out against her enemies.
She placed the card back in her deckbox at her waist, and then stuffed her book into one of her pockets in her blazer jacket. She then examined him quietly. "I commend you on your loyalty, however." She commented. She raised her hand to brush a bang out of her eyes again and kept her gaze upon Will the entire time, almost as if she were analyzing him... studying him. An odd quirk about her. She tilted her head to the side.
"Are you new here, Nimbus-san?" Mizuki asked. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]

Will smiled and nodded. "It depends on the deck, an ace is an ace." he said, putting his card back, and then chuckling a bit with his arm behind his head.
"Yeah, I'm a first year student. Though, between you and me, dueling isn't my ultimate goal, but I think it can help me get to what I want to do." Will said, admitting a truth.
"What about you?"

[atrb=valign, top] She rolled her feet so that she stood on her tip-toes, and then rolled them back down so that she stood on her heels, and seemed to rock back and forth this way as she talked. She smiled a bit. "I'm actually coming close to my third year here. I've had to retake a year though." She commented. She didn't state any more on that fact, but instead she focused in on Will's answer. It was better off for her so that he wouldn't ask her why.
"Your ultimate goal isn't dueling? Then what is it?" | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]

"I'll have to catch up, because this is supposed to be my third year. Luckily enough, I know my stuff.. well.. mostly." he said, gesturing to the red he was wearing. "But watch, I'll be yellow in no time."
The question about what he wanted to do was just what he was waiting for, and he couldn't help but smile. "Most people here dream about being the next King of Games, I want to go even higher. I was to work for Industrial Illusions, be the right hand man to Mr. Pegasus himself. And I want to be a creator of cards, like this one." he said, pulling out a rather decent looking paper card, that said nothing but 'Atmos', and had a picture of what looked like a larger than life dwarf, with full beard and armor. In the upper right corner was written 'Divine', and that was it.
"He's not the first one I've done, but he will be one of my most powerful. I'm going to make the Weather Warriors some of the strongest cards in play. Within reason, of course." Will said, with a chuckle. "I figured, if I can graduate from Duel Academy, I will look the best when it comes to Pegasus, and show him how dedicated I am to the game."

She nodded quietly. "At least you have aspirations, Nimbus-san." She commented. "No one can discredit that, no matter what colour you wear." She twiddled her thumbs behind her back and tilted her head, staring at Will with a slightly vacant expression.
"But there is a small thing that makes me curious. Why is yellow your goal? Why not blue?" She asked.

Will thought about it for a moment. "Well, to be honest, Blue just doesn't seem my thing. They seem to preppy and full of themselves, at least that has been my experience. And all the wasted extravagance. Maybe someday I'll get up there, and if offered, I won't say no, but I'd be perfectly happy as a Ra Yellow. That, and the only long term goal I set is my dream job, everything else is more towards the present. I can't think about Obelisk if I'm just a Osiris, I need to make Ra first." he said, shrugging as he spoke.
"What about you.. I assume you want to make Obelisk as well? And are you one who wants to be a pro duelist?"

Mizuki placed her hands behind her back and looked towards Will with an expression of curiousity as he told his story. "It makes sense to me. One step at a time towards your goals in life. And at least you're not taking too long of strides." But then there was something that startled her out of this conversation. He asked about her. She frowned a little.
"No. I have no desire to become a pro... I don't even care if I make Obelisk." She sighed a little and adjusted her skirt. "I'm here in the place of a dear friend who... couldn't make it himself." Her eyes looked dim. Sad even. She kept her gaze at the ground. "He taught me what I knew with enthusiasm. And he wanted to come himself. I chose to come in his place when he found that he could not. He wants me to do my best, I'm sure. However I don't mind where this path takes me. I know it is a good career choice, and I will of course apply myself at the best of my ability, but I have no true goal in this place." She finished, looking back up at Will blankly.
