Crap crap crap and double crap! She was late for work! School had gone on a little longer than normal and now she was late for the only job she had! Sure it was part-time but her job was something she loved, considering she really had nothing else better to do after school. She rushed to the back and put on the designated uniform, pulling her sleek blue-black hair into a ponytail, she put her yellow headband on and pulled the ponytail out.
"Perfect" She said and grabbed a duster, starting to dust the shelving off, making sure Ms.Mint's store was in perfect condition. She flipped the sign to "Open' and turned on the Open neon sign. Propping the door open to hopefully tempt a breeze. Despite the somewhat chill weather, the Egyptian native liked to let fresh air into the store, it made the atmosphere a bit better. As she dusted the shelves, she put on some music like she did every day on her shift, and sang along softly to it.

---AFTERNOON Domino City – Market District [Emporium]
"Time stands still here;” “Within every dusty relic sets a sleeping memory." The air was so chilled, so unwelcoming...
However, he had to endure! All his life this was the logic whenever he had opened his eyes, wiped the sand from them, and sat up in the bed. Large blue orbs like the ones that pierced the chilly air of the afternoon had opened to their fullest when they had realized that the body had awaken, stirred by emotional distress. However, regardless of the situation of the young effeminate male, he had pleasant mornings that were not always awoken by depression or unease.
Hope? There was just a ray of it. Rather it was just actually a gentle sunlight that would pierce the crack of the meeting drapes that shaken him from a sound sleep when his days had come at Duel Academy. That light was absent now this late afternoon as he was only drawing his warmth from a thick white jacket and gloved hands that were tucked into his pockets. His white jean pants were thicker and socks were high and in a fold to hold as much warmth as possible. Black was underneath to retain what warmth he could manage, but he liked the stylish white he wore.
After all, he could use some bright things these days.
Duel Academy had dismissed for the weekend merely hours ago and he was on the first airplane right back to the mainland for special purposes. Valentine’s Day was a day to show affection for the one others loved, usually a sweetheart, and it was Xenneth who was fortunate to have two very important women in his life to give gifts too. His lips that were in a wrinkled, discomfort had straightened slightly with the weakest of weak smiles as he drew a little extra warmth from his wildly heart, and the sapphire glow in his eyes returned as they gazed upon the signs of the Market District’s sidewalk. He was fortunate they were still open this cold day and during this hour after school.
“Lucky!” He had thought, “A lot of places are still open! I didn’t stay at school too late!”
Hectic schedule of a nursing student aside, Xenneth was happy he made it to the mainland in order to buy something and at such a convenient hour. He wanted to think of a late gift for his mother and his sister that they would appreciate. Young Rosetta’s gift was already particularly picked out as Xenneth knew her like the back of his hand. She was a special little girl for a thirteen year old who simply dreamed of being a scientist. For her, Xenneth had saved up quite a bit from his internship and his financial scholar account promised by Kaiba Corporation and turned it into “Fun Money.” For that purpose, he had bought her a nice little telescope, high powered, and came with example samples so they young woman could dabble and dream at her own leisure of being a real scientist one day.
“Now...mom...”
His mind stopped with steps along the sidewalk, and like ideas, people had passed him by. His lips tucked behind the scarf around his neck as he dropped his chin, trying to think of a gift for a woman hospitalized in bed. There were lots of things he could buy her, but what would she look at every morning when she awaken from her weakened rest? What would make her strong to at least bring a smile if not lift a hand without losing so much energy? What would say those three words better than anything else for eternity?
“Oh!”
Xenneth’s mother was an appreciator of art if he ever met one. To prove it, she had her own flower shop that she inherited from the family. Even when she was a mother talking to infants, she had talked about how it was her dream to own her shop and it came true! It was so important to her, she had denied the demands of a prick of a husband in order to keep it, as what Xenneth would paraphrase in his version of the story with a frown. The violet haired boy had raised his head as the neon sign, unlike other shops, had called out to him and drew him in like a moth. He drawn close enough to reflect the light of the sign in his eyes, and then the character titles of the shop’s name.
“Mint’s Magical Emporium?” his breath visible as he spoke the shop’s name in a puzzling thought.
Xenneth knew nothing about magic; let alone, he did not believe in it. Ignorant of the world’s beauty, he had put on a fake face for his sister and mother to keep them going and to convince him that was the only magic that existed in the world: the magic of how sacrifice and faux feelings could work to an extent to push people’s spirits. With that, Xenneth had lived his life for the sake of his young sister and mother who were in a tough predicament. If there was any magic, he sure could use it to better his life, but that magic was lost to him and to the world considering that it was just as much as a wreck as he was by opinion. Regardless, maybe a trinket or piece of “magic” would be the lie that would help his mother smile.
With that simple motivation, he placed his fingers upon the knob, twisted, and pulled back as he stepped in...
The shop seemed old, on a limp, and dusty. He knew all of this because of the senses reacting as if they just smelt something expiring and past its due date. He could faintly hear a rhythm and simply guessed that it was a music box or some sort of radio that the voice originated from amongst the shelves. It was a creepy thing to hear, so he had stepped in slowly as the floorboards felt like they were brittle and could give away even under his light feminine-like body. The heart-shaped tattoo on his right cheek wrinkled every moment that he changed expressions looking about the store. His fingers were tempted to touch so many things, but drew back in fear not knowing what would happen.
He wasn’t a fan of surprises...
It’s why the young violet haired boy had chosen the simplest thing to touch in the store; that being was a top hat like those cliché magicians would wear on the television during their magic shows. It was so old fashion, and the young boy, curious, had gazed in seeing nothing but darkness. Curious, unsure of this shop, he had looked around wondering if there was someone that could service him. He etched his fingers around the cap, carelessly, as he called out with his gentle voice while tugging at a small cord that tangled with his fingers,
“H-Hello! Is anyone he-”
*BOOM! CRASH!!!*
*GASP?!!*“A rainbow is attacking me!!” The violet haired boy had sat on his backside in the aisle amongst the wooden shelves that contained a scattering of rainbow colors of foil and paper. His hair was coveted and tangled in a light haze of dust and pieces of colored strips that was confetti used for a magical disappearance. He was toppled over, sitting on the floor with the top hat rolling from between the aisles and into the open while the surroundings were dirty and was still fresh with a showering of the colors. The heart on his right cheek was now as droopy in image as was his own face. “This...” he had spoken with a lowly tone following a sigh, “...is so embarrassing!”He rolled his body, sitting upon his knees while trying to brush the confetti from his long violet hair immediately before anyone saw, including the manager. This would really not look good at all!
