Recently, Dick had been accepted into Duel Academy. The blue-haired son of a pro had gotten into Ra. With how infrequently he played or how little he honestly cared about it, he did pretty well. But still in all, he didn't understand why his mother wanted to send him here.
The blue-haired teenager sat on an otherwise vacant bench. Today, he was clad in his uniform. It was your average Ra uniform, the colors the same as any other, boots were there. However, the blazer was worn open, the dark grey undershirt exposed. Next to him was a bag containing his deck, duel disk, and text books.
"Blah. . .", he said to himself, clearly bored out of his mind.

Sahtra walked with a clip in her step. The dance... She let out a huff of frustration. Even though she had gone there, dressed and with a matching partner, it had been a bust. Were the students just not feeling it? She sighed and turned her head to the side to gaze at the scenery as she walked. Perhaps she had to get a party going on her own? Mentally she went over the plans for such a feat. She would have to rent out a building, get a disk jockey, set up the decorations, then of course invite the students or city goers. She paused in her thought pattern. Surely inviting people outside the school would prove more interesting. That would mean she should rent a hotel room for each student that would go to the party. With a satisfied nod, she turned her head away from the landscape. She best start her planning and making her guest list. She huffed at herself. Of COURSE anyone could be a friend or join them, because it would be interesting to have surprise guests. It wouldn't be a school dance either, meaning she could wear a party dress instead of a gown. This caused her to smile, small and flirty. She was sure to have fun with the possibilities... But what did low class people like? This caused her to stop in her tracks and put a hand on her hip, weight shifting to one side. Her eyes started to look around. She'd have to find someone to interrogate. That was when her eyes came across the blue haired boy on the bench. She put on a sociable smile and started over. Her hair flowed behind her, red and blue catching the light to accent their colors. Her eyes were relaxed, causing the purple contacts to only be noticeable when the light hit them just right. She wore the Ra uniform, but of course her skirt was tailored to be a bit shorter to show off her long legs. The jacket was opened just enough to show the light green tank top that was under the jacket. Her heeled boots were shined, clean, and perfect. With eye liner and lip gloss on and looking great, her nails painted the same green as her under shirt, she approached the boy. "Hey. I don't think I've seen you before."Her British accent was thick, but smooth like an aristocrat. She held out her hand, as if the back of it was to be kissed--a mannerism she was raised with. "My name is Sahtra. Mind if I join you?"

Dick continued to look onward. So far, several students were seen talking to one another. Many of them were engaging in Duels, mostly for fun. But for whatever reason, Dick couldn't seem to get off his ass and engage in conversation with anyone. Even though it hadn't been that long since his mother shipped him off to the island, he already missed the shitty city of Detroit, especially the friends he had up there.
But before Dick could get off his ass, someone was approaching him. Moments ago, he had spotted the red-headed girl with blue highlights walking around the courtyard. He couldn't help but notice that her skirt was slightly shorter than what the girls usually had around here. As if they weren't short enough already. The girl's undershirt was green rather than the dark grey they usually came in. Otherwise, the uniform was pretty much the same.
The girl approached him. "Hey. I don't think I've seen you before.", said the girl. Her accent was British, and while thick, it was smooth. She held her hand out to him, a sign that he should kiss it. At least, this was what he had perceived, judging from what he had heard or seen of it. "My name is Sahtra. Mind if I join you?", she introduced herself, followed by asking him. The blue-haired teenager took her hand and kissed it, hoping for the best.
"Yeah, sure. Hold on, lemme get my shit outta the way.", he told the girl as he grabbed his loaded bookbag, and put it on the ground. "The name's Dick.", he introduced himself to the girl.

Her smile stretched just a bit more at that, but nothing that was overly so that it was informal. She sat down beside him with a mental wince at his language. She was getting use to the brashness of the Americans and their language but it was still shocking sometimes. Her brow raised slightly in an unladylike manner but it quickly fell. That was... an interesting name. Perhaps his real name was Richard? She let the train of thought flutter out of her head as she sat next to him, crossing her legs. With a sense of practice, she sat without flashing anyone or letting her skirt ride up enough to set flesh against the bench. She turned to face him without crowding the bench or sitting unladylike. "So, how long have you been at the academy?"Simple conversation topics would be best, she surmised, to keep the conversation from sounding too... survey like. Not to mention, if she could get another 'follower' she would have more things she could do; such as... someone to hand out fliers or listen to her gossip and plans... friend? Perhaps but why would someone with money like her need friends?

Dick just sat there, staring towards nothing in particular as the girl took a seat next to him. So far, she didn't seem to take offense to him pecking her hand, a good sign. Perhaps he could make a friend of this girl. And on top of that, the girl was from England, so it'd make communicating with her much easier.
"So, how long have you been at the academy?", she asked him. "Three days.", he told the British girl quickly. Yep, only three days on a more secure island to miss one of the worst places in America. "What about you?", he asked her, willing to keep the conversation rolling along.

She tossed her hair back from her shoulder, sitting with proper posture. The hair, as rebellious as always, started to slide back down her shoulder. Three days? Not long enough to have a solid foot hold, in her eyes. "I'm on my second year here."She stated this proudly. It was a wonder she didn't get held back but she missed a lot of class for this or that reasons--normally she would look to her Daddy and he would give her an excuse like foreign diplomatic needs for his business. She noticed her smile had slipped in thought. She brought the soft and open smile back to her face. "Tested straight into yellow? Congratulations. Have you been enjoying your time here or met any one else yet?"Always safe to ask this question, for if he had already made friends with people who disliked her, this could be a problem.

"I'm on my second year here.", stated the British girl in a proud tone. Dick was relieved that the first person he met was someone who had experienced the academy. If he had any questions, he might be able to ask her. The girl then smiled again. "Tested straight into yellow? Congratulations. Have you been enjoying your time here or met any one else yet?", she had asked him, while complimenting him.
"No. And you're the first person I've actually talked to.", he told the girl. From his tone in the answer to her first question, his tone hinted at being homesick and not having really come on his own accord. The answer to the second question was just an honest answer. "Where would a good place to meet others be?", he asked her. While this was a good start, it was pretty important that Dick would make the most of his time here and actually make some friends. Perhaps then he could find happiness on the island.

Inwardly, she winced. He was a friend-need-er. Her own word, but she never said it out loud. Why can't she find someone who simply just needs a social interactive person without emotional ties or needs? Outwardly, she turned her head to think about it, pleasant and peaceful all the while. One perfectly manicured finger tapped on her chin on the right side. With legitimate thought, she flipped through her mental memories of locations. He didn't seem like a high class citizen so she tired to think of simpler meeting locations. Somewhere the lower class would go to meet people. Bar? No, too young though it is quite fun at those places. No, she had to focus more still. "Well, I would say School Dances, but you missed the latest one... perhaps the cafeteria." She called back to meeting the Osiris student, who had simply stopped talking to her and had made her extremely upset. The mere thought of his insufferable lack of sociability made her blood boil. The look of her anger or frustration passed by her face, like a shadow of a cloud passing over the land. Her face was soon placid once more, the small smile the only thing that kept her from being completely blank. "After class in the halls, or just in your dormitory. You could always go to Domino and attempt the cafe for idle chit chat. Mostly, it's anywhere really, you just have to push yourself to find someone to talk to."Her finger stopped tapping her cheek and her hand lowered back down to her lap. She recognized finally the homesick sound. She only recognized it because she had been homesick herself when she got here. Mentally she frowned. Don't compare yourself to a commoner like that. You were raised to travel and conduct business just as Daddy does. You were taught that a home away from home was still home, be it in China or the US of A. She gave the slightest of nods as if to affirm that she heard herself think.

"Well, I would say School Dances, but you missed the latest one... perhaps the cafeteria.", she told him at first. While she was thinking of further things to say, Dick was already mulling over the possibilities. Normally, he would attend a school dance, given the chance. While he never came with a date, his visits were normally to pull some pranks on his fellow students. And the cafeteria would be a good spot, but then he did end up sitting alone during the last couple of days.
"After class in the halls, or just in your dormitory. You could always go to Domino and attempt the cafe for idle chit chat. Mostly, it's anywhere really, you just have to push yourself to find someone to talk to.", she continued, snapping Dick back into reality. "Yeah, sounds good to me. . .", he told the girl with a smile. "Thanks, and sorry. Moving here is kinda hard to get used to.", he continued.

"It an be hard when you first move here."She would admit this much. Anyone could have told him that because if you weren't slightly upset, then you either were not human or you were from a bad house. Sahtra thought back to her home and gave a genuine smile, more towards the memory and not so much to her company. "This place will grow on you with the more people you meet. More so when you meet... interesting.... people."She said interesting with a wiggle of her brow. How unladylike but flirting was in her genetics.

"It can be hard when you first move here.", the girl admitted to him. Dick smiled as she said that. Sure, anyone could say that, and it was expected. However, it just felt good to hear that. Any actual reason for Dick not being homesick was nonexistent. Sure, his dad was the epitome of being a hard ass, but he was a good father who was reasonable. His mother, while she was responsible for bringing him here and was a bit lax, which was probably why the relationship worked out between them, taught him what he needed to know about Dueling, even if he wasn't too dedicated to it.
"This place will grow on you with the more people you meet. More so when you meet... interesting.... people.", said the girl with a wiggle of her brow. It was clear that the British girl was flirting with him. Dick couldn't help but grin. Even if it was probably just in good fun, why couldn't he have fun too? Even if he'd never flirted before.
"I think I already have met an interesting person. . .", he said with a grin.
((Shitty flirting is shitty))

She let out a laugh. She voiced her next bit with a toss back of her hair. Again, the strands would rebel and start to slip in front of her shoulder again as she spoke. "Well, I'm glad to hear that. If I was uninteresting, I would bore myself."This was true. She didn't have time for boring and normal people. Though, of course, her party had to draw them in when she held it (whenever that would be) but that would wait for further questioning. What other questions would be idle chit chat? "So, where did you live before you came here?"

Dick looked at the red-head as she laughed and tossed her hair back. Same result as before. "Well, I'm glad to hear that. If I was uninteresting, I would bore myself.", she told him. "So, where did you live before you came here?", she asked him. "I came from the shitty city of Detroit.", he told her with a laugh.
It was funny how he actually missed living in Detroit. First of all, the city was crowded as all hell. Many nights were spend worrying about whether or not his father would be killed during duty. But then again, it was his home, and many good times were had in the city. Obviously, he had made good friends in Detroit, many of which he would most likely not see until graduation.
"How about you, where'd you come from?", he asked her in turn, keeping up the conversation.

"Me? Why, I came from the United Kingdom."She said this proudly and her chin went up a bit in honor. She put a hand to her collar bone and her eyes closed as she spoke again. "I use to go out so much more there than here. I would be at almost every party that was worth the time. They would have such wonderful decorations... Have you ever gone to a party that wasn't a school function?"She tried to slide the topic towards her goal. Whether the change was clean or choppy, she wasn't sure. Her hand returned to her lap and she leaned forward a bit, showing him interest in his response. Her eyes batted a bit, waiting for a reply. When she was being raised, she had to learn the importance of body language. If you wanted something, you had to play the game of give and take, interest and disinterest.
