[atrb=valign, top] An unamused groan of discontent filled the hall outside of the 200 series rooms as a young woman walked down the hallway. The woman stared at a stack of forty cards with distaste. She furled them out, and anyone walking behind her could probably catch glimpses of Jar of Greed, Dark World Dealings, and Spirit Reaper.
"There must be a more efficient draw engine..." She muttered. As much as she didn't want to go into any draw engine that involved the current meta, she felt that perhaps she didn't have much of a choice. She rubbed her temple as she stared at the next card, Shard of Greed, and then she proceeded to lean on a wall beside her, halfway between room 237 and room 210.
"If Disc Commander weren't banned... perhaps Destiny Draw and Dasher? That could be handy... Legacy of Yata-Garasu? No, that makes the problem worse; Royal Magical Library becomes even more... hmm." She placed her finger on her chin as she stared down at the card in front of her. "This is irritating..." She said with a frown to herself. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]

In his room, he sighed as he finished working on unpacking the last box he needed to. Room 210 of the Ra Yellow Dorm. This is where his quest for mastery would begin. The place he would hone his skills like the Dojo of the Great Shogun where the Six Samurai trained. He would duel with honor and hopefully make a friend or two along the way.
"Well that's the last of em." said Shizuma
"That is indeed the last of them, welcome to your new home, Shizuma." said a familiar voice with a calm joy that matched the serenity of the seas.
"Thanks Yaichi...where's Zanji?" asked Shizuma as he turned to see the current Samurai of Water standing behind him.
While Yaichi stood there, fully armored, one would see a man with long hair and a bow. However...Shizuma knew better, after getting to know the Samurai of Water he found out that she was surprisingly a woman. Though she was the only one on the main team, Shizuma knew better that she was not the only woman serving the Great Shogun.
"He's still out and about checking out the island. It will be you and I for a bit, Shizuma." said Yaichi.
"Well you know what, let's go find him then. I could get to know the island myself personally." said Shizuma to his spirit guide.
With a nod, Yaichi smiled as Shizuma dawned his Ra Yellow trenchcoat and headed out from his room, as she followed him still in her visible spirit form. As he stepped outside, he heard the ramblings of one of his fellow dorm dwellers. It seemed she was in a quandary about draw engines. While he had no problems with such in his deck, he wouldn't mind getting to know people. With a smile he walked towards the girl...not even remembering that he still had the white rose in his lapel as Yaichi followed...
"Hello!" said Shizuma with a infectious smile as he walked towards her and bowed.

[atrb=valign, top] The curiously blue eyes, eyes that seemed almost like a deep and dark well of water, looked up from the deck that she was examining. She looked at him blankly for a moment, before nodding her head.
"Konnichiwa." She said frankly. She even stopped leaning on the wall quite as much, almost as if to stand at a little more attention then she had been. She moved her deck quickly to the deck box at her waist and inserted the deck inside. Then she placed her hands behind her back and looked at Shizuma with a tiny bit of curiousity.
"May I help you?" She asked politely. She examined the boy. The boy was about her height, and had a penchant for trenchcoats as she had, apparently. She crossed her leg behind her ankle and placed her hands in the pockets of her own jacket; a blazer style today, and held the jacket over herself. It seemed as if she was conscious of wearing the women's uniform of the Academy or something.
"I don't think I've seen you around here before. Are you new?" | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]

As he saw her eyes, he was reminded of the ocean. It was wierd, but it just seemed like it would fit for her. She was about his height and she definately seemed to have a similar style to himself. Save for maybe the Rose and of course she was wearing lady clothes, but hey it was a comparison point.
Yaichi looked on quietly as her partner began to interact with the dear woman in front of her. To her, Yaichi saw the eyes as a possiblity of affinity for water, the ability to flow and contain wisdom in her eyes. But it was up to Shizuma to see what he saw about this woman.
"Yeah, I'm new I just moved in to room 210 down the hall. I'm Shizuma, nice to meet you." He said as he stood there looking at her.
It was clear this girl was here before him, at least that's what it seemed like to him anyway. Oh well, at least he might get to learn some of the ins and outs of social life around here. It would help out just a tad...

[atrb=valign, top] "Mizuki desu... Room 307." She replied back to him and she tapped the toe of her right foot against the floor in a bit of a nervous twitch. She looked at him carefully for a moment, eyeing him up. He was very... friendly. It was a bit unnerving. Most people around this school... if they were this friendly, they wanted a duel to be able to flaunt what skill they had for the rest of the world to see. She also noticed that he had a thing for floral decor. Odd for a man.
She nodded. "Well, Shizuma-san, I hope you do well around here. You've obtained Ra on the first shot, so clearly you've got some talent." She chuckled. "However, you're not Obelisk, so you don't have an inflated sense of self-worth. Yet." She motioned to the hallway behind her. "Do you need a tour around? I need to clear my head anyway." | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]

"Sure if you wouldn't mind." said Shizuma accepting her offer calmly.
He wasn't sure about this girl just yet. Heck...it was almost as if she was analyzing him or something. Well, he supposed he'd find out in the future. At least her chuckle was calming enough. As he started down the hall with her he thought about her particular comments about the folks in Obelisk.
"Well, I'm new so I cant say much about all the Obelisks..but they all can't be that bad right? I mean, doesn't everyone want to advance there eventually?" said Shizuma curiously as he looked at her.
He had no clue about the social structure that was abound in Duel Academy. However, the way she was putting things he had a feeling he was about to find out.

[atrb=valign, top] "Some, yes. Perhaps I shouldn't generalize." She said calmly as she started to walk beside him, taking him towards the first floors. She kept her hands in her pockets the entire time, and she kept her eyes focused forward. "I'm sure some Osiris and Ra students are the same way." She commented. A faint smile rose up on her lips, as she thought of an Osiris student she had met who fit the same description... Cloud Duelist Extrodinaire. What a title.
She let her eyes glance to the side at Shizuma. "I'll take you to the common room first; there's a lot of things from there to see. So, what was your motivation for coming to the school, Shizuma-san?" She asked the other boy as they walked towards the staircase. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]

"To see what it is I can make of myself as I grow stronger here. I look forward to meeting a lot of people here and maybe making a friend or two along the way." said Shizuma as he walked with her. "So, mind if I pose the same question to you?"
He was genuinely curious now the she herself had posed this question to him. He wondered exactly just what it meant to be a student here for her. He knew motivations were different across the board from the lowest Osiris to the greatest Obelisk. However, he knew some reasons were far better than others. And something told him that her reasoning would be a bit deeper than some of the more shallow students here and he appreciated that more out someone.

[atrb=valign, top] She looked down the hallway quietly, and her face lost the smile. "I promised a good friend. Of course... he worded it as if he were doing a favour for me. He said he would stay behind and look after my..." She paused for a moment. "parent, and my sister. Truth was, he couldn't go here himself due to medical reasons. But he wanted to know what it was like, and he had gotten me into the game in the first place. I decided to go for him." She looked to the side at Shizuma.
"Truly not the greatest story of grandeur. I don't mind what comes of it; perhaps I'll be a stronger duelist. Maybe this will take me to professional leagues; maybe I'll be a teacher. But if I'm not, at least I had the experience." She laughed a little and looked down at the ground. "Seems like a silly reason to spend a scholarship, huh?"
She walked with him towards the stairs and took her right hand out of her pocket to balance herself on the banister. She glided her hand along it as she descended with her pinky held out in the air and her fingers caressed the smooth metal. The click of her shoes could be heard audibly on the staircase. She looked up and out the window as her feet clicked along. "That doesn't mean I won't use this oppurtuinity to do my very best, mind you. I just have a relatively silly motivation for doing it." | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]

"But it sounds like a fine one to me. A good purpose doesn't have to have the most grandure it just has to have a sound reason, and a good heart behind it, and I think you got just that, Mizuki." said Shizuma as he looked at Mizuki.
As he walked down the stairs with her he put his hands in his own jacket pockets as he walked with her. He knew she wasn't going to hold back when it came time for the real action to start and he could respect that. Plus her reason was a rather touching one and he hoped that she would be able to go far. It would be a matter of time before they could see for sure but Shizuma was beginning to have high hopes for her.
"Well, since you're here...what's your deck type?" asked Shizuma as Yaichi caught up with them nearly excited to hear him proclaim his deck for all to hear.

[atrb=valign, top] She glanced to the side at the informal way that he used her name, but other then that, said nothing else on the subject. Instead, she kept walking down the stairs in silence. That was, until he asked about her deck type.
She smirked and glanced back at him, and one could swear that her eyes darted just over his shoulder before darting back to him. It could've been missed even in the blink of an eye, but it was there. "My deck type? I can't tell you all of my personal secrets." She said with a wink. She closed her eyes and shrugged, but that smile still remained; a touch warmer then before. "If you want me to tell you, you'll have to tell me first; proper ettiquette." | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]

"Proper etiquette, Mizuki-san? Alright I'll see your game." he said as he brought the Duel Disk from around his back which he was wearing.
He put the disk on to his left arm as per the normal and pulled the first card from the deck. And he smiled as it was indeed one of his main cards in the deck that wasn't in his Extra Deck. He revealed it to Mizuki and to Yaichi's delight, it was her card, The Six Samurai-Yaichi.
"This would be my deck type, the one that's gotten me this far. The Six Samurai." said Shizuma with a proud smile as he showed it to her.
He had used the Six Samurai from an early age and would never be ashamed of having them or be too timid to tell someone this fact. The people back home knew, and soon all of Duel Academy would know the name of the "White Rose Samurai".

[atrb=valign, top] She smiled quietly and opened up her own deck box. With a whishing sound through the air, she pulled out two cards with her left index and middle finger, and held them up. The front card was Metaion, the Time Lord. She then slipped her thumb along the back of the cards to push out the second card; Final Countdown.
"My specialty is stall. If you manage to never hit me, or only hit me when I want you to, I've done my job." She said as she put the cards back. She shrugged.
"I don't have a signature deck though. If anything, Metaion-san probably resembles my style the most. Sit there, take it all, and give back an indirect injury in return." She shoved her hands in her pockets again. Then her eyes brightened a little.
"Actually, one of my favourite cards is one that you may appreciate. One Day of Peace depicts the Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan drawing up a peace treaty in his youth." She shrugged. "I don't know why, or what war they were in at the time, but there you go. Some trivia about your cards." She placed a hand behind her head and rubbed it. "I read a lot." She said as the preemptive explanation for why she knew this information. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]

"One Day of Peace...I've seen the card, and Kizan is a wise man in order to become the eventual Grandmaster of the current Six Samurai. Also a good card for your strategy even if it does give your opponent a card. For Final Countdown that guarantees two turns of it." said Shizuma.
Yaichi on the other hand stood there smiling as she remembered exactly where this card's inspiration came from. She remembered Grandmaster Kizan telling her and the others about the wars that brought their homeland under the rule of their Honorable Shogun Shien. She remembered that the section of the kingdom she came from was part of that treaty as they had just aligned themselves with Shien and thus fell under attack. The people she worked under now a days were warriors of another age but she was certain that they were all honorable people and She along with the other Samurai of Today were charged with protecting the land that Lord Shien and the others fought so hard to unite.
"You aren't the only one...I like reading any lore about the Six Samurai and of course Lord Shien and his court." said Shizuma with a grin.

[atrb=valign, top] She chuckled quietly. "I could never dream to limit myself to one bit of lore." She commented. She descended down the next flight of stairs and saw the front foyer in sight. "Knowing each and every type... that is how I defend myself against everything thrown against me. For instance." She raised a finger and held it in front of her. Her hand seemed to give emphasis to all of her words from this point forward.
"Yes, a Six Samurai deck can defeat most decks. A very efficient toolbox, you can use the effects to slice through an opponent's defenses, as long as it's the Main Phase or the Main Phase 2, barring a couple of effects." She looked to the side.
"What happens for the effects that activate at the standby phase? Shi En. How does one get rid of Shi En? Through simple removal. This can be accomplished several different ways, but many can be neutralized with Shi En, correct? Well, he can only neutralize once. And what's more important; say if I took control of your monster Shi En, or if I activated one of my effects? A good question; because if I take control, I can use Shi En for myself." She put her hands into her pockets once again.
"That's the lovely thing about toolboxes. You need to know exactly when to activate the effects; and in the opponent's doubt comes your door." She said quietly as she hit the last stair with her left heel. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px, bTable][style=text-align:center;width:100px; font-family:bookman old style; font-size:10px; line-height:10px; border: 4px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px;]
