---??- Duel Academia Isle [Forest] [/b][/left] "It’s really not your fault if no one cares to talk about it."
"Harpie Queens, attack him directly. Harpie Lady and Harpie's Pet Baby Dragon, follow up and take him down."
Even if Xenneth knew what was coming, it did not stop it from being slow and drawn out as the monsters miraculously bombarded him. The violet haired boy had been defeated in a matter of seconds and instantly he was overwhelmed and knocked back onto his backside. He was not really hurt, but seeing those aerial monsters fly so swiftly towards him while he was so fragile was not easy on him. Regardless, he was glad for once that his life points reached zero and he could stand once again. His eyes went to his cards into his hand, with a slide of a finger he placed them into a single pile and added them with the rest of his deck.
“Fine, you win…” he had said lowly as he approached the young woman slowly with his eye digressing once again, shamefully. “That’s the best I can do, now can I please have my backpack now?”
It’s what he called “his best” when it came to such circumstances. Dueling for such a reason was not too enticing for him. Regardless, he doubted the young woman would keep her word if he won or not. If he did, she’d probably just be upset or suspect him of cheating as his appearance would contradict to his potential. Overtime, he learned that not everyone liked the “sharp mouse” that outwits a “ferocious tiger.” They just liked a helpless mouse and that’s the role he could play, and even more, he reduced to himself to with his thoughtless tactics.
Holding his right hand out, whether she just handed it over kindly or just threw it at him, he at least expected for the young woman to hand over the backpack. OOC Notes: Now Listening To: "Emergency” by Paramore Chatty Ditz: Rushed this post. I'm leaving campus. Plus I'm hungry as heck!

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,442,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/0kDBl.png] Recita stared at him quietly with her arms crossed over her chest as she waited. The boy appeared to be packing up his things quickly with some amount of disappointment. There was always a factor of disappointment when one loses and the outcome was to be expected. She was of the Blue dorm and clearly he was of a lower dorm. However the boy appeared to be expecting her to hand over the backpack, which was not what she said she would do. She kept her word and left it where she found it. She just chose not to walk away from it yet.
"The backpack is here if you want it,"
She finally called out to him neutrally. While she didn't care much about what he decided to do afterwards, she was still interested in the deck he had. The way the boy dueled just now appeared of a slifer caliber. Just defending, not doing anything, stalling for no reason. However most slifers had arrogance that rivaled the Obelisk class and those are the types that usually were the worst of their class. She was interested in what kind of potential this boy had and the deck should be able to reveal if there was any strategy at all.
"Come here and show me your deck."
Recita stated as she shifted her body weight slightly. Glancing to the side she eyed the other girl that had appeared before. The girl appeared silent. Didn't do or say anything during the entire duel, which she thought was strange. The new girl clearly disfavored her so she expected her to cheer for the boy the entire time. Of course, she wasn't going to let the girl get close enough to grab the backpack away. After her business was done, Recita intended to leave and take a nap somewhere as so much trouble in a short amount of time was not entirely what she wanted to do for her afternoon.

Rebecca had been standing there silently, but mostly because she was stuck watching the duel from the sidelines. The Obelisk girl won, of course...but there was something about how she was playing. It was ruthless; not even giving the other kid time to collect himself before moving from one attack to the next. it probably wasn't something Rebecca could do, especially with such...efficiency.
"...How did you do that?" It wasn't what she really wanted to ask. Had she more a backbone, Recita would have been on the receiving end of a lengthy diatribe as to how she could be so heartless and brutal to the boy, when it was obvious she were more skilled. But she couldn't say it. so that little question is what she went with.

---??- Duel Academia Isle [Forest] [/b][/left] "When it’s all over, just wake me up."
He lost! Of course he loss!
Still, Xenneth was filled with unease, not saying next to anything to Recita after his request. He had turned his neck in a crane enough to see both girls with a shift of his eyes. The violet-haired boy was quiet until the next moment she broke her silence: "The backpack is here if you want it." The Obelisk Blue student actually cooperative and not giving him any grief as Xenneth had stood there for a moment. He was suspicious, as always, as if the girl was some sort of alien. He had taken slow and steady steps, approaching his bag. He reached along the pockets on the front, sides, and the main pouch looking for everything.
Journal, spare cards, and note books...
It was only the sight of the journal that was enough to let a sigh escape the boy’s soft pink lips. It was the rare thing that could not be remade or replaced; a soft description of his fondest memories. Lifting the cover page, he had seen the very first notes with his name before sliding it back in after seeing no extra ware or tare other than its long history with him. The other Obelisk Blue student, he barely paid attention to. She most likely was not talking to him seeing he was nothing to gawk after such a defeat.
"Come here and show me your deck."
“Ugh! What now?!” Dear God! Did this girl ever stop barking orders?!
Xenneth had heard her only standing up quickly, reaching to his duel disk and snatching his card deck from the slot quickly, but too much of in a hurry to drop one of his three Nurse Reficule cards amongst the bed of violets that were about his feet. He breathed hard before quickly reaching the card and snatching it from amongst the pile flowers and grass stems. The way he cuddled the deck, almost forgetting the backpack had indicated a more clear message that was shown in the violet haired boy’s eyes: “This deck was more precious than some backpack full of old memories; something precious that he was not trusting the young woman to hold ransom as well.”

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,442,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/0kDBl.png] When the other girl finally spoke, Recita glanced over to her in a small form of acknowledgement. However the question that was asked was simply strange to her. How? It was a card game based on the ability to use combos to achieve victory. The fact that the girl asked how was unsettling as to how low the academy went to find students to fill it's ranks.
"Easily. Maybe if you attended classes, you would be able to learn combinations such as those yourself."
As the boy cautiously approached her with his outstretched hand to grab his backpack, Recita did nothing to stop him. When he finally grabbed it, she took a step out of the way as to make sure he wouldn't be able to see up her skirt or anything. Of course, when she asked for the deck, he was still unable to show any backbone which only proved her own theory about people.
"Well?"
She asked nonchalantly, as if not caring about whether or not the boy would comply. In truth, she didn't and if the situation didn't teach him to grow a spine after the simple things had come to pass, she couldn't help him. At that point only did she deactivate her duel disk and slide the deck out and back into the back of her deck belt. Not only did she have better things to do, she didn't want to be discovered.

"I, I know THAT! I mean..." Rebecca struggled to put her words together. Surely she'd have to find a way to put her thoughts out there, but she just couldn't do it. Not like this. And none the less she had to try.
"You had him dominated from the opening draw...and you just kept pounding and pounding after it was blatantly obvious you were going to win. Why couldn't you just let that be that? Don't you have any decency?" She was shaking as she finished, almost afraid of the sound of her own voice. But she had said what needed to be said...or at least, the part that she was able to get out...

---??- Duel Academia Isle [Forest] [/b][/left] "When it’s all over, just wake me up."
This girl had a funny way of calling herself a person.
Even as Xenneth had heard the bickering between the two and her awaiting approval for his deck, he was still hesitant. Observing the other young woman, Xenneth could see that not all Obelisk Blue students had the same look of seeing him and other lower-class students as inferior; if anything, it was unsettling. He would rather keep that notion than to see moments for when they turned against each other. It was a funny thing; it was like being in a normal High-School like he was for his freshman year: people had no sense of unity when it came to their school over all.
“I-It’s okay…” he had spoke up as if trying to calm the other young woman who was in an uproar towards Recita, “…I just wanted my backpack. That’s all, so it's actually good the duel ended quickly.” he said as if showing no consideration towards the duel, not even for fun. Then again, what duels have been fun for him anyway since life had begun to spiral more out of control than a broken amusement park ride. That was another story in his mind that involved a lot of lost lunches and fear of tea cups that made him sick during tea time.
“I just don’t care really,” he had begun to say, “I’ve gotten enough criticism from people for avoiding duels in the first place. No matter what rank they are, I’m picked on and targeted, so I don’t care about winning, I just want to get my life in-order so I can graduate and become a doctor. If that means losing to not show everyone the cards in my deck, so be it.”
Xenneth had seemed to go in cuddling his deck as if it was a precious child. With the sentimental value behind it, it could have been. Cards that were in amongst the small pile had held memories, and the memories were so vivid just by looking at each one. If people were to see the cards, think of his deck in a way that was malevolent about its strength, it would corrupt the purpose of his structure. His deck was never meant to dominate duels and for stardom; he just wanted to help people and have fun playing a card game his family taught him; a game that kept him from remember how lonely he was.
“I’m not showing you my deck.” Xenneth responded to Recita, seeming to decline her request.

"Th-that's not the point!" Rebecca could barely believe she was saying this. She didn't really have much stake in it, and yet she decided, like an idiot, to put herself in the middle of this.
Fate was funny like that sometimes.
"You ought to be ashamed for not putting everything you had into that duel! But that's still no excuse for her taking advantage of you like that!" Turning back to Recita, Rebecca stuck her index finger right in her face. "And to prey upon him like that is just...it's WRONG! What is wrong with you?!?"
Yeah...she knew this couldn't end well. but she said it anyway. If for no other reason than to get it out into the air.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,442,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/0kDBl.png] "What meaning is there in that? He didn't surrender, not even when it was clear that I would defeat him. It is a warrior's defeat to take that head on without surrender. You will do well to learn that at the very least,"
Recita stated in almost a scolding manner. As a duelist, one should know how to take defeat. Just because you are ruthless does not mean you are in the wrong. There is no victory in kindness or honor in surrender. There are either winners or losers and even the losers are able to chose what kind of defeat they will face. The fact that the girl would attempt to scold her for such a thing was rather barbaric in her mind and made her classify the girl as simple-minded.
And then Xenneth went on about a speech on how it was okay for him to lose quickly. As long as no one saw his deck it was okay. He didn't even like to duel? Well, Recita was at least able to share that sentiment with him but everything else just sounded childish to her. If the boy's aim was to become a doctor then it was highly logical he had a deck that ran around healing or what most called anti-cure. As she guessed, a bad reaction to simochi deck with the Nurse Reficule that she was able to glance at earlier when the boy dropped it.
"You're at the wrong school if that's the case. Being a doctor is nothing like being a duelist,"
She responded solemnly as she turned her back on the two. She had no further use in being here but at least she was able to see the boy grow some sort of spine. Though, it didn't change the fact that humans were all the same. They never change. Though she can hardly blame them for self preservation.
As regards to his deck, there were probably plenty of ways to make it better. Recita slid her hand into her pocket and conveniently took out the correct card. After looking at it, Recita threw the card behind her, revealing it to be the card Dark Cure. She wasn't going to ruin the running theme and if he didn't take it then it was still no skin off her back.
"If we're all done here then I'll be off."
Though she said this, she didn't walk away yet. With a glance over her shoulder she waited to see if any of them were going to start bugging her about anything. If they didn't she'd simply walk away and deny ever meeting them.

"You're at the wrong school if that's the case. Being a doctor is nothing like being a duelist,"
Xenneth would say that the other person was right, that he was wrong for not putting up a fight, that maybe he was approaching things a different way, but his mind only went to a distant memory the moment she said that.
He could still close his eyes, even when in shame like now, and find a distant memory. The violet haired boy thought wisely on words that he heard such a long time ago. The scenery smelled of florescent flowers and piping hot tea blended to perfection. His fingers were touching a hard wood crafted coffee table that was long in length, but not in width and was perfect for a spread of four dueling mats. Two were occupied that day, cards were laid out before him with few and the opponent’s field was with many. However, victory went to him that day and his opponent smiled to him.
“I like your deck big brother,” she said, “Because you care about the monsters! You don’t try to fight them, you always try to make it so they can’t fight.”
She was right...
A wise doctor was not one who simply looked at the shallowness of a wound or a bruise. They would look into history, charts, graphs, draw up an appropriate diagnosis based on patterns and consider every aspect. Xenneth did this in duels when he would observe the field, or at least when it came to dueling so long ago for fun! He would come up with a solution after looking at the problem, make bold moves and calls that would make the opponent guess, and then make them realize his approach that moment before it was too late. Their monsters were raring for a fight, but yet, they no longer had a reason; none would when life points were reduced to zero.
“N-no!” Xenneth had said with a stomp that was almost so sudden, it hurt his leg, “I-I don’t believe that. I-I can’t...” he had said. It was not that she doubted him, but the person that encouraged Xenneth, it felt like she was doubting that person words to which he admired.
Xenneth had not made too many sudden movements, just his hand reaching down and picking up the card and gazing upon it. The card known as “Dark Cure” He just knew he could not believe the words of someone like that, he couldn’t!
