Ryuki wandered down to the Lighthouse around 8pm, dressed in his Slifer Red uniform, and a slightly discontent expression on his face. He wasn't a fan of not only being sent to the academy, but at his parents request wasn't allowed to take the entrance test. Now it left him wanting to duel someone and get the anger out of him, but he knew there was a reason why he was sent here. His parents just didn't like how he got cold and win at all costs during a duel, wanting him to have fun instead of being so competitive. Ryuki couldn't help it, though. It was just who he was. Now here he was, by the Torim Lighthouse and staring up at the stars, wondering what he was going to do in terms of whittling away his overly-competitive drive. It was footsteps behind him though, that made him look back, his expression now one of curiosity.

Tori hiked towards the light house. Being from Miami, she had seen a few lighthouses and seeing this one gave her a sense of home. She had on her normal black turtle neck, blue jeans, and black boots but had added her house jacket to try to block out the night air. She'd be warmer by the light house if she could get inside near the giant light. She recalled going there with the Kyoakuhan's with fond memory. She wondered how the other two were doing. The two kids would be starting middle school now. She smiled softly to herself as she imagined the two wrecking havoc for the teachers. She stumbled on a loose rock, letting out a gasp as she caught herself. Maybe this wasn't a good idea. If she fell and got hurt, there'd be no one around. Suddenly she was very aware of the darkness and what could be hiding in the shadows. Though the stars made it so she could sort of see shapes, she didn't have good eye sight in the first place. She swallowed but pressed forward. She never had a bad encounter before on her adventures around Miami with Orlando, so she doubted anything bad would happen here. "Come on, Tori, stop scaring yourself."She lightly slapped her cheeks with both hands, making the strands of her silver white hair that stuck out of her bandanna bounce slightly. She nodded and continued the climb when she notice a figure. Her face paled slightly and she had to swallow a few times before she could speak. "H-Hello?"Suddenly she was scared of the unknown that was before her.

Ryuki turned his head down quickly when he saw that it was a girl that had arrived. The only plus was that he no longer wanted to duel someone, though the fact that he was now stuck in shy mode wasn't a plus at all. Come on, Ryuki. Think! No time to be shy right now, just gotta respond to what she says. Stay calm and don't get nervous. Just some strange girl that probably just got lost in the dark, he thought, trying to calm himself down. Taking a deep breath, he looked back towards her and his mind went to work, instantly recognizing her as someone from not only class, but from the Osiris Red Dorm as well.
"Hello, sorry if I scared you at all," he then said, trying to keep his voice from cracking or stuttering. He didn't want to show any kinds of nervousness, even though he kinda already had by just looking down quickly earlier. His mind started trying to fish through the names of the people in Osiris Red, then he went to work tryin to match names and faces, though that was of little to no good as he didn't really pay attention all that much.

Tori squinted in the darkness. Didn't sound dangerous and seemed somewhat familiar. She worked her way through the darkness before she could pick out the uniform. She let out a sigh of relief. "You didn't scare me, I scared myself... I'm sorry if I'm bothering you--I didn't think anyone would be up here..." Wait, wasn't he in her class? Oh god names. Names! She couldn't remember names! Curse her short time here so far. "I'm Victoria--eh, but people call me Tori or Tor-I."She rushed the last part, not liking to be called Victoria. It was always her Mother and Father's loving name for her. When others called her that, it often upset her. She shivered in her jacket and bit the bottom of her lip in thought. She hoped and secretly prayed she wasn't intruding.

"N-no, it's fine. I was more or less outside to star gaze. I'm Ryuki, or rather, Allen Ryu Watanuki. People have been combining my middle name with the last three letters of my last name for as long as I can remember," he replied with a laugh at the end. The stutter at the start of the sentence was not something he was a fan of, and it showed that he wasn't entirely successful in keeping himself calm and preventing any shyness or nervousness to show. Why couldn't he keep from being shy? The only time he really felt comfortable was in a duel, and he still had work to do there too in order to avoid turning into a cold-hearted person. What was he going to do? Ryuki shrugged the thought off though, as he didn't want any kind of conversation to be had about his hyper-active competition trait or the fact that he was incredibly shy, especially around girls.

She smiled at him, the color finally returning to her face. "I'm glad! It's nice to meet you. Do you mind if I sit with you?"She was rambling out things trying to figure out of it'd be rude if she tried to climb the light house alone or not. She shivered slightly as she stood there. Light house light seemed to be so warm in her memories... or maybe that's just because her memories are in hot hot Florida. She scratched the back of her neck lightly before she looked at the sky. Not really having had a clear view on the way up (hard to watch the sky and your footing) her jaw almost dropped. The city never had this kind of view... "Wow...."She couldn't help but be in awe. Then, her manners slapped her in the mental face and she shot her other hand out at him. "I forgot to shake hands! I'm sorry!"

"F-feel free," he replied, though he was clearly starting to get more nervous. Hearing her say wow, he turned his head briefly back to the stars, gazing at them. He was then brought back down to earth by Tori's offer to shake hands. His mind really started racing then, his chibi sized inner self already starting to go nuts. Shake hands? You have to be kidding me! What am I gonna do? What do I do? Gah! he thought, though it was more his inner self speaking. It didn't take much running for his inner self to pass out though, with Ryuki then blinking slightly and flinching back a bit. He then slowly and slightly hesitantly moved his hand to shake hers.

When she saw him flinch, she suddenly started to second guess herself. Was he afraid of her? Did he have a bad history? Was he verminophobia--afraid of germs?! She almost pulled her hand back when he finally shook it. Was he shaking? She gave him a firm but gentle hand shake, hoping to be reassuring that she wasn't scary or a bad person. After the hand shake, she sat down next to him, leaving enough space to not invade his personal bubble. She pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. She had a small smile as she looked at the sky. "With this kind of view, I'm surprised there isn't more people up here."She looked at Ryuki, her brows furrowed as she asked him her next question. "How long have you been with the school?"She was hoping he was an older student so she could learn some tips or tricks on 'surviving boarding school'. She also wondered on what kind of impression she was giving. She wasn't good at making friends at home because they all had other interests and no one wants to be friends with the kid who is adopted apparently.

Ryuki noticed that she left some space when she sat down, which gave his inner self a slight breath of relief as it sat down in his find before giving him the thumbs up with only one eye open. He smiled slightly at that thought, his eyes focused on the sky and the stars. Hearing Tori's question, he turned his head back to where he could see her in order to respond. "At most, probably a month or two. Really the worst struggle I had was the first month. It was all I could do to not be home sick. After that first month passed by, and I was able to stay on top of what I needed to do, then I knew I was in good shape. Key things to remember include don't piss off the Ra Yellow or Obelisk Blue students," he replied with a closed eyed smile and then a laugh.

She smiled. That sounded easy--wait. Suddenly her face got worried and she couldn't help but lean over a bit as she stumbled over her next question. "Are they hard to upset? I mean, are most of them? Are they like the bullies at normal schools? Do they pick on you just to pick on you? Oh no..."She felt sick. She didn't have Orlando with her and he was the one that shut the bullies up for her so many times... She slowly returned to sitting with her eyes on her knee caps now. She held her legs a little tighter with worry. Not again... she bit on her bottom lip, biting harder than she thought. She gasped and her hand flew to her mouth. It was bleeding slightly from the feel of it but she couldn't see the blood in the dark. She laughed nervously. She needed to stop working herself up so much. She blew a strand of hair away from her nose before looking back at him. "Sorry, I worry myself a lot. Lets forget those questions. What's your favorite thing about Duel Academy so far?"She had discovered that asking lots of questions kept the silence at bay. She might get annoying, but if he was going to get annoyed, he'd tell her. Maybe... Would he? "If I start to bother you, please tell me!"

"Now now, don't get so worked up. They aren't bullies by any stretch, not all of them anyway. You get the occasional idiots, but that's normal in any school. I just duel them and shut them up. No, your main concern is really any teacher that starts to seem like they have it out for you. Thankfully, there doesn't seem to be a teacher like that here. As for you annoying or bothering me, you aren't, so don't worry," he replied, smiling slightly. He was still being hesitant with his smiles and the like, the nervousness still around. He could here his inner self chittering away like a squirrel or a chipmunk, badgering him about why he persists in trying to defy his shy nature, something he just shrugged off mentally, though the thought of his inner self attacking him with a frying pan or metal framed folding fan came to mind rather quickly.

Her features showed visible relief and she let out a sigh. "Thank goodness..."She smiled brightly at him. She let her legs stretch out, feeling more comfortable now. Maybe making friends wasn't so hard. Maybe she was over thinking it all this time? She leaned against the light house, her hands resting on the cool earth and grass around them. She stared at the sky. She searched the sky for constellations. It took her a moment but she found the north star. "There's the little dipper!"She pointed towards it, having her mental compass set in. "I've never seen the whole constellation before..."

"Last time I saw the little dipper, I was actually looking for it. Most of my concern lies with finding the Orion and Ursa Major constellations, though one of the Dippers is the tail for Ursa Major," he replied, kind of surprised my how much he really knew about astronomy, or at the very least constellations. He noticed the fact that the shyness was starting to wear off, though he knew that it could come back at any time, a thought that led to his inner self just shaking his head and acting like he knew what Ryuki should really do. Ryuki's response to his inner self was merely an eyes closed hesitant chuckle, though it was only visible to his inner self as he watched the stars, searching for Orion and Ursa Major, though he knew that he rarely got the shapes right for those two.

Tori rubbed her chin as she search the sky for it. "Well, if I remember my class, it should be just down here..."She pointed in the general direction, down and to the right of the North Star, squinting her eyes to try to see better. It was hard for her, but sometimes she'd get lucky. "Ursa Major that is. As for Orion... It'll be to the east so... that way"She looked for the stars that made the belt of Orion. She tried squinting then opened her eyes wide, then back to squinting. Stupid albino eye issues... "I... think that's it?"She pointed at what she hoped was Orian's belt.

"Yeah, those would be right, if I'm reading the shapes right. Good job," he replied, smiling as he looked at the constellations that Tori pointed towards. The only depressing part was that now he really didn't have anything to look for amongst the stars, though he could probably just play connect the dots or something like that. After all, wasn't like he needed pen or paper when star gazing to connect the dots. You just had to find the shapes with your mind. His inner self had pretty much given up at this point, as star gazing just gave Ryuki some confidence at the moment, something he needed. Now if he could only have a way to beat his dueling issues, he'd be fine.
